BLACK STORM, FOREVER!!!
- In an effort to save the pride and reputation of the team, our players finally gave their
best and emerged victorious against AEK, with the score 3-1. Needless to say, I am
very happy, not only because AEK is a great team (my second favorite), but also
because this is our first victory against AEK... ever!!!
- Some of you might think that all those complains of mine were unreasonable, but if you
read closely you will all see the fine print. I like Georgopoulos' attitude, but I do not
approve of his continuous patting on our players' back. Regardless result,
Georgopoulos has the bad habit of making up excuses for them. I maintain that our
players have not taken this season very seriously and it is the coach's job to make sure
they wake up. I am willing to give Georgopoulos and our players the chance to prove
they care. No if's, no but's, no maybe's. We put a lot of faith and trust in them and it is
time to get rewarded.
- The next step will be to play good against Panahaiki, and hopefully win. Not an easy
task because Panahaiki is aching for a victory and let's face it... Patra is a tough place
for us to win. A tie is, by far, the minimum our players should accept. The game against
Olympiakos, in Rhodes, will be another ballgame. I am confident that once Kalamata
wakes up, getting good results in games against the big teams will be more feasible
and realistic. On the other hand, I would not expect to see these changes so soon. An
actual metamorphosis does not happen over night, but having been close to the team
during its many downs made us more demanding in periods like this.
- If Kalamata shows its good face with Panahaiki, our fans should consider returning to
the stadium and begin supporting our favorite team, once more. The euphoria that
exists in our camp should not die out but increase instead. On the other hand we should
remain realistic in our expectations, provided Kalamata wins the [realistically] easy
games. Let's show our players, coach and management that we recognize good when
we see it.
